Isabella Anna M. is a multidisciplinary artist, working across the fine ancient craft of lost wax jewellery sculpting methods & figurative works on paper, wood & raw canvas. Her artworks are expressionistic interpretations of the personal & human psyche, poetry and the lyrical sanctuary of the natural world. She means to express her obsessive fascination for the human gaze and all that it conveys; life, love, decay & the rawness of the human condition.

An autodidacte sculptor, she has drawn profound inspiration from historic Greek and Roman jewellery; driven by her passion for the ancient world and the methodology of historic artisans. Each jewel is hand-sculpted in wax, meaning they are individually unique and may have small diversities. They are fired in recycled precious metals, and once again refined and finished by hand, individually. Shining a light to the pure beauty of the raw natural gold and silver, occasionally incorporating  small accents of sustainably sourced gemstones within her works, I.A.M. insures quality with each piece, as well as maintaining the process and materials as natural and ethical as possible.

Her fascination for paint alchemy and natural pigments began in 2013, studying under an artist who practiced primarily in egg tempera and Persian miniature painting, a flame of passion was lit within the artist from a young age for the chemistry of hand-mixing paints and sourcing diverse ingredients required for the ancient methods of the great masters. Pigment is a living ingredient, ever-changing and infinitely versatile & unique. Each piece is deeply personal, her method of creation being  a vital contributor for the final work.  To see a collective gallery of  Isabella's works, click
